Use the Talents You Have

I want to share a thought that occurred to me the other day relating to ability and talent. How many people do you know that have abilities and talents and just let them go to waste?

It doesn’t matter what your talents are - you need to use them. Maybe you’re an amazing artist, or you're great at negotiating or you're a great painter or you're a great designer. Maybe you're a great engineer, an amazing doctor, a talented architect, whatever it is that you have - you need to use your abilities to their fullest.

I believe that we all have an innate ability to do things that are unique and really can't be replaced. You know how they say everyone's replaceable? I don't think everybody's replaceable. You can't find another you, exactly like you, and people that have certain abilities and certain skills are rare, righ?.

I believe that each and every one of us has a unique ability, which we haven't fully utilized. It doesn’t matter what your skill is;  you owe it to yourself and to others to use it. It is everyone's duty to use their God-given abilities.

There's nothing worse than somebody that just has so much talent and they just waste it away. And they end up accomplishing nothing in their life.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about intelligence and persistence and asked him what he thought was more valuable? He said intelligence. I think it’s persistence.

How many valedictorians in high school, or people that graduated in the top 10 percent of their class are out there changing the world? The percentage is small. I know a lot of people that were the smartest people in my high school and they're nowhere to be found.

I didn't get good grades in school, mostly because I didn’t apply myself and felt the traditional academic road wasn’t for me. I knew at a very early age that I wanted to be an entrepreneur.

If you don’t have a high level of intelligence, but a tremendous amount of persistence, you can accomplish a lot. I know many people smarter than I am, who are not as  successful because they lack a high level of persistence. I guess when our creator made us he dished out a certain amount of intelligence and persistence to each person.

With that said, if you've got intelligence and you've got persistence and you've got charm and you've got style and you feel you got everything going for you well then you have a duty to fulfill in this world and to contribute and leave your mark. You do have that duty obliged to you.

There are millions of people in this world who would die to have the abilities that you have. And  if you're not using that ability, then it's just going to waste.

If you’ve got unique talents and abilities, get out there and use them. Don't sit at home. Don't waste your life away. Don't waste your talent away when you know you can help a lot of people.

God bless.
